Description
The Hair Elements for heavy and toxic metals provides information regarding recent and long term exposure to toxic metals. In addition, this test shows a time averaged status of specific nutrient elements. The Hair Elements test is noninvasive – requiring only .25 grams of hair cut from the back of the head.
The Hair Elements tests for:
- Aluminum

The hair analysis test is useful for patients who have been at risk of toxic element exposure, consuming excessive amounts of fish, or have vision problems. In addition, this test can be useful for patients experiencing depression, fatigue, malabsorption, hypertension, symptoms related to Parkinson’s disease, or issues with kidney function.
Due to the rate at which hair grows (1cm to 2cm per month), it provides a record of element metabolism and exposure to toxic elements. The levels of the tested elements in the Hair Elements test allows for practitioners to correlate the data with the levels of heavy and toxic metals in organs and other tissues.
Hair is the tissue of choice for detection of recent exposure to heavy and toxic metals due to the fact that these metals are 200 to 300 times more concentrated than in blood or urine.
